Karen has been engaged in Minnesota charter schools from various perspectives over the last 20 years. Karen provides a school leader and organizational perspective as well as her policy and advocacy experience as a state legislator. She also served as the Assistant/Deputy Commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Education.

Human Resource Consultant Liza Hill

Liza Hill has nearly 15 years of experience working in charter schools. With her expertise in human resources, operations, and financial oversight, she fully understands the back office infrastructure of charters in Minnesota. Previously the Program Director at the Twin Cities YMCA for 10 years, she also understands nonprofit organizations. She earned an undergraduate degree in Sociology from the University of St. Thomas with a minor in Spanish. She has also acquired her SHRM-CP certification through the Society of Human Resources Management.
